Called to be faithful!!!
Key verse
Now it is required of stewards that they be found faithful
Another translation says
Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful
A steward is a person who supervises arrangements or keep order at a large public event.
As christians and ambassadors of Christ we have been called to rescue the perishing or save those who are lost and outside the kingdom of God
In fulfilling this mission of rescuing the perishing we can encounter several obstacles. How can we maintain our focus on God and remain faithful?
1. Keep your focus on God
– Isaiah 26:3
He will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee. Because he truseth in thee
– Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding will keep your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus
– Both verses are trying to encourage christians to maintain their focus on God. Do not worry about the chaos around you.
– Transfer all your challenges to God through prayer and He will resolve every issue
– While you work on winning souls for the kingdom
2. Pray constantly
Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee and show you great and mighty things, which thou knowest not
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing
– You cannot do anything meaningful without praying
– Matthew 28:18 says all power in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus
– There is nothing He cannot do for you if you trust Him
– He will help you fulfill your mission as young man or woman
– You are
“Our hope for tomorrow”
” Our leaders for tomorrow”
” And ambassadors for Christ
3. Study the word
Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path
2 Timothy 2:15
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed. Rightly dividing the word of truth
– The Bible or the word is our light or manual that shows us what to do and what not to do.
– It is therefore important to study it well so we know how to live our lives and win souls for God
Conclusion
In order to become faithful stewards for God or servants of God we need to
– Maintain our focus on God
– Pray constantly
– Study the word
