What can I do in return for your love?
By Aunty Evangeline
The Lord is my shepherd
I shall not want
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures
He leadeth me beside the still waters
He restoreth my soul
He leadeth me in the path of righteousness
For His name sake
Yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil
For though art with me
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me
Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever
Two men were asked to recite Psalm 23. One recited the Psalm like a nursery school rhyme. With no meaning. It was just another way of entertaining himself with fake christian rituals
The second man recited it with so much meaning, he left the audience in tears.
Lesson in the story? The first man knew the Psalm but it had no meaning for him
The second man knew the “shepherd” . He had experienced his love, mercy,
power and might
Which of these two men are you?
Those like the man who knew the shepherd have this attitude
They are so grateful for what God has done for them. They cannot decide what is good enough to repay the Lord for what he has done
What are some of the testimonies grateful people give?
1. Someone, might say me the rejected and forsaken one. With no hope
– Today, I can stand among believers and testify of the Lord’s goodness
– What can I do in return for your love Lord?
2. Or another person will say, I had it all. Houses, cars , the latest fashion. I saw myself as being superior to all others.
– I boasted about my intelligence and wisdom and mocked God.
3. One day, I had an epileptic attack whilst driving. I am alive today because I know there is a living God
– My car could have crushed. But it was somehow diverted off the busy road, hit a tree and stopped
– I will dedicate my life to serving the one true God.
– What can I give Lord in return for your love?
What are some of the things we can do to express our gratitude to God?
1. Fear or give reverence ( respect)
to God and keep or obey His commandments
Ecclesiastes 12:13
And this is the conclusion of the matter, fear God and keep His commandments. For this is the whole duty of man
2. Do good works or be kind to your neighbor
Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven
3. Give and share whatever you have with your neighbors
Luke 6:38
Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure , pressed down, shaken together and running over.
4. Share one of your many testimonies of what God has done for you
Psalm 150:6
Let everything that hath breath, praise the Lord.
