Key verse
Isaiah 6:8
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ” Whom shall I send and who will go for us?” Then I said
” Here am I ! Send me”
According to the verse above, God is looking for workers in His vineyard to win souls.
Will you like the Prophet Isaiah say, Here am I, send me. There is an almost parallel verse in Matthew 9:37-38
Then He said to His disciples’, ” The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers in His harvest.
How can we make ourselves available for the Lord to use?
1. We must be ready to obey the Lord always
– Joshua 1:8
– John 15:7
2. We must be ready to sacrifice
– Psalm 37:5
– Mark 10:29-30
3. We must delight ourselves in the Lord
Psalm 37:4
Matthew 5:11-12
1. We must be ready to obey the Lord always
– Joshua 1:8
This book of law shall not depart out of your mouth. But you shall meditate on it day and night that you may be careful to do all it says for then you shall make your way prosperous and you shall have good success.
The verse above says we should study the word and do all it says or obey then we can be vessels the Lord will use.
– John 15:7
If you abide in me and my word abides in you. Ask whatever you will and it shall be done unto you
This verse also encourages us to obey the Lord always then He can use us.
2. We must be ready to sacrifice
– Psalm 37:5
Commit your way to the Lord, trust Him and He will do it
When you commit your way to the Lord, you are sacrificing your will and desires and asking God to take over
When you have this attitude it is easy for the Lord to use you
– Mark 10:29-30
Truly I tell you, Jesus replied, no one who has left home or brothers or sisters…..
This is a promise from the Lord that anyone who makes a sacrifice for the Lord’s ministry will be greatly rewarded and used
3. We must delight ourselves in the Lord
– Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord and He shall grant you the desires of your heart.
Delighting yourself in the Lord involves having pleasure in doing the will of God
Like
– Winning souls
– Helping the poor and afflicted
– Bearing your
neighbor ‘s burden
– Matthew 5:11-12
Blessed are you when men shall revile you and persecute….for great is your reward in heaven
When you find joy in doing the work of the Lord in the midst of persecution you will be greatly used and rewarded
