BLESSED IS THE MAN THAT TRUSTETH IN THEE

For the Lord god is a sun and shield the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

God is a Sun and Shield
- God is a sun to us because He guides us along the journey of lie by throwing light unto our path to make it clear and easier to come on our journey. Psalm 119:105 says
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
This confirms the explanation given above.
- Go is a shield to us because He protects us from harm and trouble. He is our refuge or hiding place in the time of trouble
Psalm 46: 1 says
God is our refuge and strength
A very present help in the time of trouble.
The Lord will Give Grace and Glory
What does this phrase mean?
- The Lord will give grace means the Lord will give us
- Favour with men and help us obtain the things we need in the journey of life
- Favour with god to obtain the strength and spiritual enablement we need in life
2 Corinthians 12:9 says
And He said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
- The Lord will give glory means the Lord will cause us to excel to glorify His name.
2 Corinthians 3:18 says But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as the spirit of the Lord some translations says God causes us to grow from one degree of glory to another.
No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly
- In biblical terms, a good thing is anything that causes us to be conformed to Christ. God is gracious Father, giving good gifts to His children. These gifts include healing, protection, peace, joy, strength, wisdom and many other blessings.
- The upright person has a great respect for God and for His commandments. The upright has a secure walk or lifestyle (Proverbs 10:9) because he/she is guided by integrity (Proverbs 11:3) and avoids crooked paths.
Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee

- To be envied
- Spiritually prosperous
- Have life-joy and satisfaction
- Have God’s favour and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions

– Hope is in God
Conclusion
Proverbs 3:5-6 says
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.
Those who put their trust in God shall never be disappointed. Because He always, that is God makes a way.
