No weapon formed against me shall prosper
No weapon formed against me shall prosper
By Evangeline Unity Esaaba Folson
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; ad every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servant of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
The bible in basic English version of the verse above says:
No instrument of war which is formed against you will be of any use; and every tongue which says evil against you will be judge false. This is the heritage of the servant of the Lord, and their righteousness comes from me, says the lord.
In the world today, it is very difficult to live strictly according to the word of God because sin abounds.
When you desire to adhere strictly to the word of God and obey what it says, even Christians try to frustrate you. There are several instances in the bible where the Pharisees and tried to find faults with what Jesus did (even the son of God who had no sin) so they could arrest Him. An example of this can be found in Matthew 12 where Jesus is accused of healing on the Sabbath day.
Another example can be found in the book of Esther where Haman sets up a perfect plan to kill Mordecai a Jew and devout man of God. Eventually, the gallows Haman built to execute Mordecai was used for Haman himself. Please refer to Esther 6-Esther 9. The Pharisees and Sadducees were the religious leaders of Jesus’s time.
Do not fret or worry about what is planned against you. Hebrews 13:6 says:
So that we may boldly say, the Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Instead of living in fear, trust in the word of God that “no weapon formed against you shall prosper” and then:
- Obey the commandment of God
Deuteronomy 28:1-13
John 15:7
- Pray without ceasing
Jeremiah 33:3
1Thessalonians 5:17
Ephesians 6:18
- Thank God for the Victory
Isaiah 41:10
1 Thessalonians 5:18
2 Corinthians 2:14
Obey the commands of God
Deuteronomy 28:1-13
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and do all His commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all the nations of the earth: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Verse one of the passage quoted above is a promise from God “to set on high above all the nations of the earth” (to bless abundantly) anyone who will obey all the following list all the blessing that God will bestow or shower on those who are obedient.
Deuteronomy 28:13 says
And the Lord shall make thee the head and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandment of the lord thy God, which I command thee this day, and observe to do them.
In my opinion this verse is a confirmation of “no weapon formed against thee shall prosper”
“ __ _ _ _ _ you evil be above only and not beneath” means in spite of all the schemes planned against you and the challenges, God will still put you above only.
John 15:7
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Regardless of the enemies plans against you, once you abide in the word of God or obey the word of God, whatever deliverance or protection you need you shall receive from God, when you ask.
Pray without ceasing
Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.
This verse gives n to Christians to call on God at all times. It does not matter, when where, how, or the number of times you will call. The verse does not specify any of the situations mentioned above. You can pray 100 times a day at work, home or in the bus. It is not necessary that you close your eyes each time and kneel down. Your eyes could be wide open and you could be delivering a speech at a conference, you can still pray. Once you have a need, it does not matter when, where, or how you pray.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing
This verse implies that we must pray morning, afternoon, evening, midnight or dawn.
1 peter 5:8 says
Vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
The devil works 24/7 trying t distract Christians and snatch them from the kingdom of God, so we have to pray constantly in order not to fall into the trap of the evil one.
Ephesians 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplications I the spirits, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplications for all saints.
This verse admonishes us to not only pray for ourselves, but to pray for others as well. there are some who are too sick or overburdened such that they cannot pray for themselves. Such people need assistance or prayers of supplications or humble requests for help from God Almighty.
Thank God for the victory
Isaiah 4:10
Fear thou not: for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
The verse above is a promise from God to help us in all circumstances with whatever assistance is required. It is therefore necessary to always thank Him for the victory in all things.
1thessalonians 5:18
I everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
It is God’s will for us to thank Him in all circumstances not for the challenge or misfortune but for the victory he has already granted us through the death and resurrection of Jesus over everything.
2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savior of His knowledge by us in every place.
As a Christian you always have to see yourself as having the victory in whatever challenge you encounter or obstacle you face. Christ has already given us the victory, when we thank God for the victory, we gain access to the victory that has already been won for us.
