I Will Restore to You
By Evangeline Esaaba Folson
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm and the caterpillar and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the names of the Lord your God, …
The phrase “I will restore you… ! is a promise!
And the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 1:20 that for all the promises of God in Him are you, and in Him Amen unto the glory of God by us.
According to the verse above all the promises God has made to His children are “you, and in Him, Amen”. In short they are all available and at our disposal once we claim them God is faithful and He will grant them.
If He says He will restore, He means I will give you double blessings for your trouble.
0 or I will give you beauty for ashes as He did for Job.
Job 42:12
So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than His beginnings for he had 14,000 sheep, and 6,000 camels and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.
From the verses listed above, God’s promise to restore is true. Do we have to do anything in order to be restored by God? Let’s look at the story of Job
The story of Job
Job received favor from God because
He never cursed God for his predicament His wife, friends told him, what is happening to you is not fair you are a devoted Christian.
Curse God and Die
But Job said
Though He slay me, yet will I trust him but I will maintain mine own ways before him (Job 12:15)
Trust in the goodness of the Lord ever through you go through challenges and he will restore what you have lost and double you blessings.
He believed God can do everything or all things therefore God could still heal him and bless him abundantly.
Job 42:2
I know that thou canst do everything, and that no thought can be withholding from thee.
He knew beyond any doubt that he had committed no crime.
His friends and family kept forcing him to confess his sins and receive forgiveness and restoration.
Job was right, he had committed no crime his challenges were a test of his commitment to God
This is confirmed in Job 1:9-12
Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?
Hast not thou made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side. Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the Lord.
But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power, only upon himself put not forth thine hand.
The story of Balaam and the Donkey
Another story in the Bible we can learn from on how to find favour with God and receive restoration for our losses can be found in Numbers 22:20-35 Balaam a prophet of the Most Him God, Jehovah had been given a message by God but he decided to disobey God. On his way to a place where he had not been sent to his donkey (ass) suddenly stopped and hurb Balaam. Balaam was so angry he started beating the ass. Then the Lord did the impossible to redirect Balaam.
His donkey started speaking to him. Balaam there is an angel an angel of God in our way I cannot go through the angel the angel no matter what you do.
Then the angel opened his his eyes and Balaam was able to see him.
By the Holy Ghost which is given to us.
God has given us the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit to comfort and sustain us as we wait for our restoration.
John 14:16
And I will pray the father, and He shall give another comforter, that He may abide with thee forever,
