For I am the Lord thy God, thy savior
For I am the Lord thy God, thy savior
By Evangeline Unity Esaaba Folson
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy one of Israel, thy SAVIOUR………
The message Bible translation of the passage above says:
When you are in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you are in rough waters you will not go down.
When you are between a rock and a hard place
It won’t be a dead end
Because I am God, your personal God, The Holy One of Israel, Your SAVIOUR………
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, a Saviour is a person who saves someone from danger or harm.
Romans 3:23 says he have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. And our wages or punishment should be spiritual death or complete separation from God as Romans 6:23 says
But because God loved us so much, He sent His son Jesus to save us from this spiritual and eternal death. (John 3:16)
Jesus, therefore, is the savior of all mankind.
He did not only save us from sin and spiritual death but “delivered us from all evil” as Matthew 6:13says
How does Jesus Continue to show us that He is our savior?
- By responding to our call for help
- Jeremiah 33:3
- Matthew 7:7
- By fulfilling His promises to us
- Numbers 23:19
- 2 Corinthains1:20
- By causing us to triumph always
- Deuteronomy 28:13
- 2 Corinthians 2:14
By responding to our call for Help
Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew the great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
The verse above is an open call from the Lord to us to call on Him whenever we need help. It does not matter where we are, or how we do it. He will answer and direct us on what to do. He is and will always be our savior. He will do all that is necessary at all times to ensure that all our need are met. He wills also shield us from danger and harm.
Matthew 7:7
Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find, knock, and it shall be opened to you.
According to the verse above as our Saviour, He will give us whatever we ask, once it is in His will.
He will help us find whatever we are seeking or looking for and He will open doors that are closed in our lives.
In other words, He will give us breakthrough or victory over persistent about for years.
By Fulfilling His Promise to Us
Numbers 23:19
God is not a man, that He should lie, neither the son of man that He should repent” hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?
The verse above says it is not possible for God to lie. Whatever He says in His word He will fulfill
This is very comforting because it means, whenever we need help we can fall on promises in the bible concerning our situation and God will certainly make a way. If His word says, “Ask, and you shall receive………” then when you need kind of assistance you can ask God through prayer and you will receive the answer
2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us
This verse is a confirmation of the message in Numbers 23:19 God cannot lie and He keeps all His promises.
By causing us to triumph always
Deuteronomy 28:13
And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandment of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, and observe and do them.
According to the verse above if we hearken to or listen to the commandments of the Lord and obey them the He will make us “the head and not the tail” that is god will make us excel in all we do and give us good success.
2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savior of His knowledge by us in every place.
This verse also says God will always cause us to triumph or excel in all we do.
Conclusion
The verses that have been quoted and explained above all show how our Lord Jesus continues to
Be our Saviour in these modern times after we have been saved or after we have accepted the gift of salvation He continues to:
- Respond to our call for help
- Fulfill His promises to us
- Cause us to triumph in all we do.
The songwriter says:
If my people who are
Called by my name
Humble themselves
This is the way
They should turn away
From their many wicked
Ways.
I will hear their Cry
2 Chronicles 7:14-16
