The redemption story
John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life .
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be save.
After the fall of man, God had to find a way of bridging the gap between Himself and man. He loved us so much that the passage above says
He had to find the perfect plan.
Bulls and goats were initially used as sacrifices to atone for man’s sins. But it was cumbersome, expensive and barbaric. Not all people could meet the standard required. The poor for instance might end up sacrificing all their livestock, leaving them no protein for their food. Some might even have no livestock.
Then God came up with the plan for an ultimate, one time sacrifice that would take care of past, present and future sins.
The only one who could be used for this sacrifice was Jesus. And Jesus willing offered to do as the Father requested. This is the gist of the redemption story.
Beloved in the Lord, God has done so much for us and it is our duty to also please Him by fulfilling the great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20.
God be with you
Suggestions for success
1. Reflect on all the blessings you have received since you accepted Christ. Determine in your heart to share your testimony with others so they can also enjoy God’s blessings.
Prayer
God sent His Son
They call Him Jesus
He came to save, heal and forgive
He lived and died
To buy our pardon
And life is worth a living
Just because He lives
Because He lives
I can face tomorrow
Because He lives
All fear is gone
Because I know
He holds the future
And life is worth a living
Because He lives
Amen
