The author and perfector of our faith!!!!

Looking to Jesus the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross despising its shame and is seated at the right hand of God the Father
The good news translation of Hebrews 12:2 replaces the phrase ” the author and finisher of our faith” with
” On whom our faith depends from the beginning to the end”
If our faith depends on Jesus then like John 15:7 says
…….without Him we can do nothing
How does Jesus initiate and sustain our faith? By
1.Giving us the gift of salvation
– Joel 2:28
– Ephesians 2:8
2. Our Sun and Shield
– Psalm 84:11
– John 14:27
3. Helping us
– Isaiah 41:10
– Philippians 4:13
1. By giving us the gift of salvation
Joel 2:28
In the last days I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh…..
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace have you been saved through faith . .. Not because of works lest any man should boast
– The first verse talks about God filling us with His Spirit. And Revelations 3:20 talks about God coming to live in our hearts when we invite Him in.
– When we invite Jesus into our hearts after hearing the message of salvation, He comes into our heart and initiates or begins our faith
– The second verse says this is just a gift. We receive salvation freely. Not because of our good works or our righteousness.
2. By being our Sun and Shield (Guide and Protector)
Psalm 84:11
For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield, the Lord God bestows honor and favor, no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly
John 14:27
Peace I leave you, not as the world gives..
– The two verses quoted immediately above point to the fact that the Lord sustains or perfects our faith
– By guiding and protecting us daily
– And giving us peace even in the midst of chaos
3. By helping us
Isaiah 41:10
Fear not for I am with you. Be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you and I will uphold you with my victorious right hand
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
– To sustain and perfect our faith, the Lord is daily strengthening and helping us achieve His objectives or plans for our lives.
– He also provides all we need to fulfill our ministry as ambassadors of Christ
a) Courage and anointing to preach the gospel
b) The funds and people we need to fulfill our ministry
c) And grace and mercy to overcome the obstacles in our way.
Conclusion
The Lord will ensure that we excel in all we do especially as ambassadors of Christ and perfecting our faith. Keep trusting Him
