Run to win
Ecclesiastes 9:11
I returned and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill: but time and chance happeneth to them all.
King Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived, compares life to a race, a battle, etc. What he is trying to teach us in this verse is that the best according to the world’s standards do not always make it in life. It is God that gives success.
1 Corinthians 9: 24 says
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run that ye may obtain.
The Apostle Paul also admonishes us to run the race of life to win. Let us lay aside every weight and sin or any hindrance and ask God to help us win(meet His standards)
God be with you.
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Each morning ask God to help you live to meet His expectation for your life.
2. Make the decision to put in your best in every situation so that you will excel.
3. Know your weakness and ask for God’s grace to overcome them.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, You are God all by yourself and I bless your holy name. Help me to overcome my weakness so I can live a victorious Christian life.
