Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Delighting in the Lord, I believe involves obeying the commandments of the Lord and seeking to do His will at all times. Jesus summarized all the ten commandments into two great commands
-Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul and with all thy mind.
-Love your neighbour as thyself.
If we truly obey these two commandments then we have done the will of God.
John 15:7 says
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.
This verse in the new testament reaffirms the verse in Psalm 37. If we really want to achieve our heart’s desires then we must obey God’s commands fully or completely.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. There is a saying in twi (my local dialect) that says you cannot say you love God who you do not see when you cannot love your neighbour. Let’s learn to love and accommodate all the people we deal with.
2. It is when we love our neighbour that we can truly love God. Then God would grant all our heart’s desires.
