LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED
LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED
BY EVANGELINE UNITY ESAABA FOLSON
JOHN 14:1 – 3
Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me
In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.
The news of war, pandemic, drought, and famine around us, puts a lot of fear in our hearts.
In spite of all this bad and negative news, Jesus says we should not let our hearts be troubled. We should:
- Believe in God
- Believe in Jesus
- Believe that Jesus is preparing a place in heaven with the Father and all the heavenly bodies for all Christians.
We need not fear or worry because:
- God does not lie (Numbers 23:19, Jeremiah 1:12)
- God works in mysterious ways. His wonders to perform (Colossians 1:27, Habakkuk 1:5)
- His thoughts and ways are not the same as man’s (Isaiah 55:8-9)
GOD DOES NOT LIE
NUMBERS 23:19
God is not man, that He should lie; neither the son of man that He should repent: hath He said and shall He not do, Has He spoken, and shall He not make it good?
The verse above confirms that God does not lie. Jesus promised that He was going to prepare a place for us in heaven with the father. Once the Lord Jesus has promised, He will prepare a place for us, we need not fear because God always fulfills His promises. No matter how challenging our circumstances, lets
encourage ourselves with the promise that Jesus will come back for us and take us to the place He has prepared in heaven for us.
Jeremiah 1:12
The Lord unto me, thou has well seen, for I will hasten my word to perform it.
This verse assures us that God will quickly fulfill His promise. Our future is therefore secured and guaranteed. We will enjoy life in heaven with God.
GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS
HIS WONDERS TO PERFORM
HABAKKUK 1:5
Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe though it be told you. Jesus promised that He was going to prepare a place for us and will come back and take all Christians with Him.
Once He has promised, He will keep his word. it looks like something that will be difficult to achieve but God knows how He will plan and direct all things so that the promise will be fulfilled.
Colossians 1:27
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you the hope of glory.
We all know, there is a place called heaven. But do we know where it is or how we will get there? God will make this mystery possible at the appointed time. Let’s keep obeying the Commandments of the Lord and in a way that will please God. Then Heaven will certainly be our home in the future.
HIS THOUGHTS AND WAYS ARE NOT THE SAME AS MAN’S
ISAIAH 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As human beings, we cannot imagine or think or understand how this promise will be fulfilled. Our wisdom and knowledge are limited. We should not burden ourselves with how and when this promise would be fulfilled. Just trust God. He has His own ways and thoughts. Let keep trusting Him and waiting patiently. We need not worry.
CONCLUSION
Let’s meditate on the words of this song.
Somewhere in outer space
God has prepared a place for those who trust Him and obey.
Jesus will come again
when though we do not know.
The countdown is getting lower every day
O yes
