IN HIS TIME
IN HIS TIME
BY EVANGELINE UNITY ESAABA FOLSON
Ecclesiastes 3:1, 11
To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also He hath set the world in their heart so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
The book of Ecclesiastes is believed to have been written by King Solomon, the son of King David. He is said to be the wisest man that ever lived. King Solomon’s writings are full of words of wisdom or what we will call philosophies. The two verses above explains that God has times and seasons. He does his work in his own time. Psalm 90:4 says:
For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
Psalm 90:4 teaches us that when we are dealing with God we should not worry too much about how long it takes to get answers to our prayers. He knows when and how to give us what we ask for. Therefore, when we place our requests before God we should:
- Be patient and wait on the Lord. Psalm 27:4, Isaiah 40:31
- Bear in mind that God’s ways are not the same as ours. Isaiah 55: 8 – 9
- Fear not. Isaiah 41:10, Joshua 1:9
- Understand that he makes all things beautiful in his time.
Galatians 4:4-5
Ephesians 1:10
John 14: 27
BE PATIENT AND WAIT ON THE LORD
Psalm 27:14
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say on the Lord
Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.
I believe that when the bible says “wait on the Lord”, it means we should fast, pray and study the word whilst waiting to receive answers to our prayers. God knows it is not easy to do this when you are under pressure. Psalm 27:14 say “take courage and he shall strengthen thine heart”. Isaiah 40:31 also says as we wait on the Lord he shall renew our strength and help us wait for him to act.
BEAR IN MIND THAT GOD’S WAYS ARE NOT THE SAME AS OURS
Isaiah 55:8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
These two verses explain and confirm that God is indeed mighty and superior. His thoughts and ways are much higher than ours. When man thinks all hope is lost in a situation and nothing can be done to resolve issues. Then, God steps in, and in a twinkling of an eye, he turns things around. Just like he spoke to calm the storm on the sea when he was with his disciples
Joshua 1:9
Have not commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage. Be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee, be not dismay; I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
When we find ourselves surrounded with so many challenges, it is easy to loose courage and think that God has forgotten or forsaken us.
The verse in Joshua and Isaiah assures us that God is always with us in the midst of our troubles. We do not need to fear, he will strengthen and help us as we pray and wait for him to move in our lives.
UNDERSTAND THAT GOD MAKES ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL IN HIS TIME.
Galatians 4:4-5
But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Ephesians 1:10
That in the dispensation of the fullness of times, he might gather in one all things in Christ, both which in heaven, and which are on earth, even in Him.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. not as the world giveth, give unto you. let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, God makes everything beautiful in his time. He has a time for everything. The three verses from the new testament also confirms that God works with time. “In fullness of time” meaning when the time was right in the sight of God, He moved.
CONCLUSION
Let’s make this song our prayer each day:
In His time 2x
He makes all things beautiful in His time
Lord please show me every day
As you are teaching me your way
That you do just what you say
In your time
