CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART
CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART
BY EVANGELINE UNITY ESAABA FOLSON
PSALM 51:10 – 12
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right Spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy Salvation; and uphold me with thy free Spirit.
As human beings, it is very easy for us to fall into sin. We are all descendants of Adam and we were born in sin.
God hates sin but He loves us as His children and His Creation. Therefore, He has provided a way to cleanse us of our sin, according to the passage quoted at the beginning of this write-up, we must
- Confess our sins
Psalm 51:10-12, 1 John 1:9 - Ask for the blood of Jesus to cleanse and restore us.
Hebrews 9:14, Revelation 1:5, Revelation 7:14 - Ask for grace to stay away from sin.
2 Corinthians 9:8, 2 Corinthians 12:9
CONFESS OUR SINS
1 JOHN 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
The best thing to do, when you realize you have sinned is to pray and tell God about it (confess). There are times that we believe that because of the magnitude of our sins (the seriousness of our sin) God will not forgive us. The bible says the only sin God would not forgive is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit every sin would be forgiven.
Therefore, when you fall into sin do not hesitate to confess and ask God for forgiveness. He will forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9) Psalm 51:10 – 12 also says, God will create in you a clean heart, renew a right Spirit within you and restore to you the joy of Salvation. God will make everything right in you.
ASK FOR THE BLOOD OF JESUS TO CLEANSE AND RESTORE YOU
HEBREWS 9:14
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without Spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
REVELATIONS 7:14
And I said unto Him, Sir, thou knowest. And He said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
The blood of Jesus was shed with the prime aim of cleansing us from sin, past, present and future. It was a once and for all sacrifice. The blood also reconciles us to God after the rift created between man and God when Adam and Eve Sin.
ASK FOR GRACE TO STAY AWAY FROM SIN
2 CORINTHIANS 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound towards you, that ye always having sufficiency in all things. May abound to every good work.
2 CORINTHIANS 12:9
And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
The grace of God is available for all, it is able to help us achieve and obtain all things in life. Pray for the grace of God each day to help you stay away from sin.
CONCLUSION
Meditate on the words of this song:
Create in me a clean heart
And renew a right Spirit within me
Cast me not away from thy presence O Lord
And take not thy Holy Spirit from me
Restore unto me the joy of thy Salvation
And renew a right Spirit within me
