Blessed are the peacemakers!!!

Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God
In the Bible , a peacemaker is defined as someone who actively works
– To reconcile people with God
– And with each other
– Promoting harmony and well- being
A passage in the Bible that perfectly defines a peacemaker is Romans 12:17-18
It says
Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of God. If it be possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone
What are some of the things we need to do to show we are peacemakers? We must
1. Bear one another’s burden
– Galatians 6:2
2. Love our neighbor as yourselves
Matthew 22:37-39
3. Live at peace with all men
– Romans 12:18
1. Bear one another’s burden
– Galatians 6:2
Carry each other’s burden, in this way you fulfill the law of Christ
– Meaning, christians should learn to help one another especially when a brother or sister is saddled with so much challenges
– Such people are vulnerable and need a lot of tender love and care
– Sometimes such people may be hostile because of their circumstances but let’s try and go the extra mile and be nice to them and be peacemakers
2. Love your neighbor as yourself
Matthew 22:37-39
– Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind. The second commandment, ” Love your neighbor as yourself
– These two commandments according to Jesus are the greatest. Why
– It summarizes all the ten given by God to Moses in the old testament.
– If you love your neighbor, you will not steal his belongs or covert his property
– You will not lie or bear false witness against him or her and you will not murder, etc
– Do for your brother or sister what you want to be done for you and be a peacemaker
3. Live at peace with all men
Romans 12:18
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone
– Meaning, ignore those who try to cause trouble for you
– Do not take it to heart. Pretend you have not seen anything
– And live peacefully with everybody
