Behold I Do A New Thing
Behold I Do A New Thing
By Evangeline Unity Esaaba Folson
(AKA AUNTY EVANGELINE)
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
The promise of something, “A new thing is exciting news to everyone especially when it comes at a time when there are difficulties and hardships. Like during the COVID-19 era As soon as news comes out that scientists are close to finding a cure and a prevention, everyone is happy. It gave hope for a better life after the pandemic.
The Israelites had been through some hard times, and God through the Prophet Isaiah gave the people the promise in the passage above.
He said forget about whatever has happened. Put it behind you, it is history. I am going to do something new and exciting I will make the impossible possible in your lives (I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert)
How do Christians position themselves to receive the new things of making the impossible possible in their lives? We must
– Wait patiently to receive
Habakkuk 2:3
Isaiah 40:31
Revelations 22:12
– Watch and pray
Psalm 27:13-14
Matthew 25:13
Ephesians 5:16
Believe in the goodness of the Lord
Isaiah 54:17
James 1:17
Hebrews 11:6
Wait patiently to receive
Habakkuk 2:3
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it: because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
God has his own measure of time different from our calendar years. What seems long in human terms may only be a short time in God’s calendar. Therefore we need to be patient and wait for this time.
Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not grow weary; and they shall walk and not faint.
This verse says when you wait patiently for the Lord’s timing, He rewards you with extraordinary strength. What should completely exhaust you seems very easy because you have exceptional strength from the Lord.
Revelation 22:12
And, behold, I come quickly and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be
This verse from the New Testament also reaffirms the fact the God rewards those who wait patiently for the timing.
Watch and Pray
Psalm 27:13-14
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord to the hand of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage and he shall strengthen thine heart wait, I say, on the Lord.
When the Bible says wait on the Lord, it means study the word, pray and ask for direction concerning the situation you are praying about. In other words watch and pray.
Matthew 25:13
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the son of man cometh.
According to the verse above it is important to wait on the Lord (watch and pray) because you answer to your prayer will come. Therefore you have to be ready at all times
For instance your BECE results are in, your grades were not very good but you are praying and believing, for God to make a way.
Your mates are already in school and the authorities in school say you are on the waiting list. Buy things school especially the essential items like exercise books pens, calculator etc.
Those on the waiting list are called after about a month when school has re-opened and some students have not reported.
If you wait to prepare after you reeve the message to come to school, you will miss a lot of school work. But if you have the essential items, you can go to school and your parents will bring the other things later.
Ephesians 5:16
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Redeeming the time refers to the fact that it is important to make the best of the time we have here on earth. We will not live forever. Do not postpone the work of God till, after you finish school or retire. Do it alongside whatever you are doing now. Our Lord might come soon and your work will not be complete.
Believe in the goodness of the Lord
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord…
News media reports, give account of every scary things like global warming an climate change is destroying the planet we need to act fast or we will all perish. This is a true fact but we need to focus on the goodness of God. will the Lord allow the whole Africa to perish because we have no funds to meet clime goals?
James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the father of lights, with warm is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
The verse above says every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord. We will definitely make a way to help Africa for instance meet climate goals. UN agencies could decide to fund irrigation projects in Africa. Or the commonwealth secretariat will finance Africa’s shift to renewable energy sources
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
God rewards faithfulness and trust. He will not let you “fall” or “fail” when He knows all your hope is in the deliverance.
Conclusion
Keep trusting God to do the impossible in your life. Keep believing God to do new things in your life.
