Work out your salvation with fear and trembling

Isaiah 60:1
Arise, shine; for thy light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.

It is not enough to get saved if you want to spend eternity with God in heaven.

Salvation is free, it is a gift from God to all His children. After being born again you need to obey the commands of God in the bible.

You need to Arise, shine as the verse above says. A similar message is given in Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men…..

Another command is found in Matthew 28:19
Go ye therefore and teach all nations….

There are many more commands, you need to study the bible, find them, mark them in your bible, and pray for grace and strength to obey them.

Philippians 2:12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

As you study the bible, pray and obey God’s commands you are working out your salvation or preparing to meet the Lord when He comes.

Do not be like the 5 foolish virgins who did not prepare adequately for the bridegroom in Matthew 25:1-13.

All ten virgins qualified to be at the feast but five did not prepare adequately and we’re disqualified. You can be saved and yet get disqualified from going to heaven if you do not prepare adequately ( work out your salvation with fear and trembling as the verse above says)

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Study the word and pray daily.
2. Obey God’s commands in the bible
3. Share the message of salvation with as many people as possible.

Loving Father help me to prepare adequately for the Lord’s coming. Amen
