What shall I do?
Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me and I will answer and I will show you great and hidden things you do not know
When you ask God the question, “What shall I do” it means you need to take a decision and perhaps you are limited because:
– You have few options to choose from
– Your qualifications and skills are probably out-moded or rusty
– You are the servant of the Most High God and His word determines what you do.
The verse above says in such times call unto the Lord through prayer and He will answer and direct you
Scripture also says in Psalm 46:1 that
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble.
This verse assures us that that God stays closer to us in the time of trouble ( a very present help)
There is this very old story about footprints. The author said he had a dream or saw a vision of his life
During some parts of his life there were two sets of footprints. Representing his own and that of God
At other times he saw only one set of footprints. He also also realized that these were the very difficult times in his life
So he asked God, why did you leave me when I needed you most
God said, in those times I carried you, that is why you see only one set of footprints
Matthew 7:7
Ask, and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock, and the door will be open unto you.
This verse from the new testament shows us how to receive directions from God.
There are times when we only need to ask and we will receive. At other times we have to seek answers from the word and spiritual leaders to guide our prayer. There are also times when we need certain keys like faith, hope, patience to unlock the answers to our prayers
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Trust in God completely at all times and do what is right.
Song for meditation
Let this song be your confession and prayer
What shall I do
What step should I take
What move should I make
Oh Lord, what shall I do?
I’m gonna wait
For a message from you
I have nothing to loose
Please Lord what shall I do?
I know you will come through
With a message for me
Please, Lord, do not delay
Oh Lord, what shall I do
Amen
