The stone the builders rejected!!
Psalm 118:22
The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This is the Lord ‘s doing: it is marvelous in our eyes

The phrase “The stone the builders rejected” means the underdog or the one no one expected to excel has made it

That is the message in the verse quoted above. There are several Bible stories to prove this.

In the old testament, the family of King David had no respect for him. When the Prophet Samuel came over to anoint the next King of Israel, his Father called all his older brothers and forgot all about him

But it was eventually, David who was anointed as next King of Israel ( 1 Samuel 1-13)

In the new testament, there is the story of how the Pharisee Saul was anointed to eventually become the Apostle Paul.

He had killed and persecuted so many christians no one expected him to become a Christian. God had to assure the one who was to pray for him, that he had been converted and would do no harm ( Acts 9:1-22)

Matthew 21:42

Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures
The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

The verse above is a parallel verse or repetition of Psalm 118…22 in the new testament

This implies that the message in the two verses is very important. Never disqualify yourself from undertaking any venture because you have failed many times

Trust in God, and do what is right and He will reward you at the appropriate time
