The mercy of God!!
Lamentations 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never will come to an end. They are new every morning, Great is thy faithfulness.
The mercy of God refers to Him withholding punishment or not giving us what we deserve for our disobedience.
God shows compassion ( mercy) towards us by healing us, delivering us from bondage and discomfort and ensuring that we are well catered for.
According to the passage above God’s mercy or compassion never fails. Every morning He provides a fresh supply. Let’s learn to tap into this daily supply of mercy every morning through prayer.
Scripture says in Psalm 124:1that
If it had not been for the Lord on our side, where would we be?
Meaning, that if it had not been for God’s mercy. Most of us would have been destroyed by now.
Matthew 5:7
Blessed are the merciful for thy shall obtain mercy.
This verse from the new testament says if we want to receive or enjoy God’s mercy then we also need to show compassion or concern to:
– Those in need
– The afflicted and the needy
– The under priviledged
Matthew 25:40 says
Whatever you do to the least of your brethren you do unto me.
God be with.
How can I apply the word to my life.?
1. Do not just feel sorry for others. Move a step further and do something to ease their pain or suffering.
Prayer
Let this song be your confession and prayer
Mercy said no, I’m not gonna let you go
I’m not gonna let you slip away
You don’t have to be afraid
Mercy said no
Sin will never take control
Life and death stood face to face
Darkness trying to steal my joy away
Thank you Jesus
But mercy said no
Amen
