Set me on fire!!
1 Kings 18: 37-38
Hear me, O Lord, hear me that this people may know that thou art the Lord God…. Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice….

In the passage above, Elijah prayed for the fire of God to consume his offering, that is one way God can set us on fire, accepting our offerings to Him.

“Set me on fire” is a plea for God to fill you with excitement, zeal and passion for His work. In other words God should help you fulfill your ministry.

How can God set us on fire? God sets us on fire by:

– Putting in us a strong desire to please Him

Psalm 37:4 says

Delight yourself in the Lord and He shall grant you the desires of your heart.

– Putting in us compassion for lost souls or the unsaved.

2Timothy 4:2

Preach the word, be instant in season and out of season, exhort, rebuke….

Our utmost desire as believers or Christians should be to glorify God in all we do.

Revelations 16:15
Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that way he that, and keepeth his garment

This verse from the new testament gives us another dimension of being on fire for God.

We should set our lifestyles right and in line with the commands of God so that we will not be left behind if Jesus returns suddenly.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Seek to please God in all you do.
