Lord, teach us to love one another

Proverbs 17:17
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

One of the major attributes or characteristics of God is love. We often hear and read from the bible that God is love. If we want to learn to love then we need to turn to God through prayer and study the bible. Some of the scriptures that talk about love are 1 Corinthians 13 and 1 John 4. Read and learn how to love from these two chapters of the bible. We all need love because sometimes we burdened with challenges and the cares of this world. It is the love of God, a brother/sister or a friend that helps us get through challenging times.

1 John 4:7-8
Beloved let us love one another: for love is of God and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is love.

The passage above clearly states that our love for one another shows that we are christians and children of God. Let’s ask God to help us love one another as He wants us to.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Always make the effort to be kind, concerned and show compassion to those around you.
2. When you come across someone in need, do the best you can to help.
3. Pray for the well-being of all your friends and loved ones each day.

Dear Lord, thank you for the gift of another day. Help me to show love and concern for those I live with and meet each day. Amen.
