Let the children come

Psalm 8:2
Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings has thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou might still the enemy and the avenger.

God loves children for their innocence and complete trust in adults, guardians and their parents. In Matthew 18:3 Jesus says unless you change and become like children, you cannot enter the kingdom of God. We must all learn to trust God completely with childlike faith.

Matthew 19:14
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Another reference is made in Matthew in verse above about children. His disciples thinking children would just be a border to Jesus tried to send them away. But Jesus asked the children to come because the kingdom of heaven belongs to them. These two verses in Matthew confirm that we need to trust God with childlike faith. Furthermore, we need to train our children and even those outside our families to trust God and get saved.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. As a child or young person seek to develop a close relationship with God by surrounding your life to Him(be saved).
2. As an adult seek to train your children and those around you in the way of the Lord.
3. As a church we should plan more programmes for the youth and allow them to take active part in church activities.
4. As a nation we should put in place measures to allow all children, rich and poor to have equal opportunities in education, health and in society as a whole.
