Learn to endure hardship
Psalm 121:1-2
I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth

Hardship is anything that causes severe suffering or deprivation. No one likes hardship. Depending on your faith in God, your level of tolerance and your mindset or attitude, hardship can totally destroy a person’s life or bring good success and prosperity. (The story of Joseph from Genesis 39 – Genesis 48 confirms this, the story of Job is another example)

The Psalmist at the time of writing the Psalm above might have had some hardship or trouble. But He had faith in God and believed help will come from God. That is the attitude all Christians should have.

James 1:12 says
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation (hardship): for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him

Romans 15:5
Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like minded one toward another according to Christ Jesus

This verse from the new testament states that God is the God of patience and consolation.

Make the decision today, to pray and ask God to help you endure hardship as a good soldier of the army of God.

The hymn writer said,
Stand up, stand up for Jesus
Ye soldiers of the cross
Lift up His royal banner
It must not suffer loss
From victory unto victory
His army shall He lead
Till every foe He’s vanquished
And Christ is Lord indeed
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Whenever you encounter hardship, pray for God to help you endure and become a better person after you have overcome the challenge

Dear Lord, help me see the silver lining behind every cloud that appears in my life.
