Lay up treasure in heaven
Jeremiah 17:7-8
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planteth by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river….

It is important to lay treasure in heaven or put our trust in God because the treasures we strive for on earth like houses, cars, gold etc can be easily destroyed or stolen. Furthermore, when we die or leave this earth, we can take nothing

1Timothy 6:17-19
Tells us how we can lay treasures in heaven. By doing good works and winning souls.

This should be the focus of our actions. All other things will only give us temporary satisfaction.

Matthew 6:20
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not breakthrough nor steal

The verse above confirms what was said in the first part of this message.

Worldly treasures are good but they should not prevent us from fulfilling our ministry as Christians.

1. Think of ways you can build up treasures in heaven, like giving to the poor, the church, winning souls etc
