Are you, your brother's keeper? [January 26, 2021 ]

Daily Word

Are you, your brother’s keeper?
Genesis 4:9
And the Lord said unto Cain, where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?

Christian brothers and sisters as well as biological siblings should show concern for each other and always ensure that everyone is fine. We should also be concerned about how they are faring in their relationship with God. When they move away from God, we should help them reconcile with God. One day , when we stand before God to be judged, just as God asked Cain about his brother, we will also have to give an account of what we did for our brothers and sisters. Always remember that you are your brother’s keeper. (Matthew 25:31-40).

1 Peter 6:2
Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

One major example of how we can be our brother’s keeper is to help bear one another’s burdens. If your brother needs help to do anything in the area of health, finances, career or christian life, give all your time, money, wisdom and strength to help him/her.
God be with you.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Try to check on your biological and Christian brothers and sisters daily through the phone, social media other means of communication depending on where you are.
2. Pray for them daily.
3. Be ready to help whenever you are called to do so.

Prayer
Father in heaven, blessed be thy name forever and ever. Help me fulfill my duty as as christian and as a concerned family member. Amen.
