Wait upon the Lord!!!
Isaiah 40:31
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint ( paraphrased)
” Wait upon the Lord” means to hope, trust and confidently expect God to act. That is the message in the verse above
It involves binding oneself to Him for strength, patience and guidance particularly during times of uncertainty
Several times in our line of duty as students , workers and ambassadors of Christ we need to depend on God for guidance and direction( wait upon the Lord)
– As a student, your examination results are far below your expectation, and cannot help you get your first choice school. Do you re-write the examination or accept whatever school you are given. You need to pray or wait upon the Lord for direction.
– Your faulty production machine makes orders far below your clients’ expectation. Do you accept whatever they want to pay for it or take out the badly produced goods and insist on your original price? This would lead to a loss on badly produced orders. You need to pray or wait upon the Lord for direction
– As an ambassador of Christ your church plans an outdoor crusade. It rains on the day of the crusade. What do you do? Postpone the crusade or order canopies? You need to pray or wait upon the Lord for direction
Proverbs 3:5-6 says
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path
Learn to wait upon the Lord with prayer and study of the word and trust God with all your heart in all circumstances
