Who is on the Lord’s side?
Joshua 24:15
….choose ye this day whom ye will serve, whether the gods of your father’s……but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.

The Israelites had constantly seen the power of God in their lives but they still turned to other gods when God was not doing what they expected Him to do. Though they knew God could do the impossible and could turn things around in a second.

In the verse above Joshua was asking them to choose between Jehovah God Almighty and the gods of their fathers. Why?

The bible says in Galatians 5:9 that
A little yeast leavens the whole dough

One bad nut can destroy a whole bunch of nuts. This is confirmed by the story of Achan. Achan disobeyed God by taking some of the booty from their enemies when God had asked them not to. The result? Israel was greatly defeated in a battle they should have won easily. ( Joshua 7)

It is therefore important to declare our stand. Are we with the Lord’s army? If you are not and you pretend to be, you delay and destroy the work of the kingdom of God.

There is a lot of work to be done in terms of winning souls for God, as a student, worker and ambassador of Christ, be steadfast, immovable , always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain. ( 1 Corinthians 15:58)

Also, remain faithful to God no matter what comes your way and you will be greatly rewarded ( Revelations 2:10)

Suggestions for success
1. Do not be afraid to declare your stand as a christian wherever you go.
2. Live a life or exhibit a character that pleases God.

Prayer
Let this hymn be your prayer

Who is on the Lord’s side
Who will serve the king?
Who will be His helpers
Other lives to bring?
Who will leave the world’s side?
Who will face the foe ?
Who is on the Lord’s side?
Who for Him will go?

By thy call of mercy
By thy grace divine
We are on the Lord’s side
Saviour we are thine.
