Create in me a clean heart
Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew
a right spirit within me

Psalm 51 was written by King David after he realized he had sinned greatly against God. He was pleading for forgiveness and cleansing.

This is the attitude all Christians should have when they realize they have sinned. 1 John 1:9 says

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

No sin apart from blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is too big and cannot be forgiven. King David was forgiven and cleansed for Adultery and murder.

God does not approve of those who refuse to accept their sin and repent. Psalm 51:17 says God cannot reject a broken and contrite spirit.

1. Reflect over your activities in the past week. Do not hesitate to repent and ask for forgiveness when you realize you have sinned

Create in me a clean heart, O Lord
And renew a right spirit within me
Cast me not away from thy presence O Lord
And take not thy Holy Spirit from me
Restore unto me
The joy of thy salvation
And renew a right spirit within me
Amen
