Do not boast
Romans 3:27
Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? Nay: but by the law of faith

To boast is to talk about yourself with excessive pride.

Psalm 20:7 (NASB) says
Some boast in chariots, some boast in horses, But we will boast in the name of the Lord, our God

Meaning, some trust or have faith in their possession but we trust or have faith in the name of the Lord our God.

Everyone boasts once a while especially when you are being discriminated against or disrespected.

For example a group of students are talking about their performance in the last examination. You try to put in a word everyone shuts you down because you have never made the “merit list” (Students with grades that put them in the first best 10).

To cover your shame or discomfort you might say something like, you people have no respect for me. I wrote the SAT and passed well enough to win me a scholarship to study abroad.

Statements like the one above are unnecessary. If you want to boast, talk about what God has done for you.

This will win you heavenly rewards because:
– You are lifting the name of the Lord high by bearing testimony of His greatness
,- It will attract others to God.

Learn to lift the name of the Lord high or glorify God when people are talking against God and not giving Him the credit He deserves.

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16)
God be with you

Suggestions for success
1) Be ready at all times to give glory to God.
2) When you pass your exams do not take all the credit. Give God the glory He deserves
3) If you are promoted at work do not take all the credit. Remember , “promotion does not come from the east nor the west ……but from God. (Psalm 75:6-7)

Prayer
Let this song be your confession and prayer

To God be the glory
To God be the glory
To God be the glory
For the things He has done
With His blood He has saved me
With His power
He has raised me
To God be the glory for the thing He has done
Amen
