Bear one another’s burdens
Galatians 6:1-2
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of me ekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burden and so fulfill the law of Christ.
When we “bear one another’s burdens” we are symbolically aligning ourselves with the work Jesus did on the cross to atone for our sins.
The passage above says when one of our brethren falls or errs we must correct in love and help him/ her to overcome the sin.
In Genesis 3 when Adam and Eve erred by eating the forbidden fruit, God punishes then by driving them out of the garden but He still makes provision for them to survive outside the garden. That is correction in love and helping bear one another’s burden.
Christians today do not have the spirit to correct in love. They will broadcast the crime on social media and prevent you from fellowshipping with the rest of the brethren.
How do we expect our wounded to heal when we keep bruising them?
1 Corinthians 13: says
Love is always patient and kind, love is never jealous or boastful…love bears all things
We have to be patient with one another instead of boasting arrogantly about our righteousness. You are who you are because of the grace of God upon your life.
As students, workers and ambassadors of Christ let’s humble ourselves( 1 Peter 5:6) , no matter how holy and righteous we might be in order to help others who are struggling in their christian life.
Romans 12: 17-18 says
Recompense no man evil with evil but live peaceably with all men.
There is a song that says
I need you
You need me
We are all a part of God’s great big family
Stand with me
Agree with me
We are all a part of God’s great big family
It is His will that every need be met
You are important to me
I need you to survive.
We need each other in order to fully and effectively fulfill the Great Commission. ( Matthew 28:19-20)
God be with you
Suggestions for success
1. Pray for God to help you correct your christian brethren in love and help them overcome their sins.
Prayer
Let this song be your prayer
Lean on me
Lean on me now
Day by day
Night by night
I surrender
My life to you Lord
I remember
That you died for me….
Amen
