Be humble
Matthew 23:12
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted
The verse above describes an important biblical principle, if you exalt yourself, you will be brought low but when you humble yourself , God will exalt you.
This principle is illustrated by a parable in Luke 14:7-11. Jesus tells the story of quests at a wedding feast who choose the highest seat and were brought to lower seats. Our Lord admonishes us to rather choose the lowest seat
and allow the host to give you the highest seat if you deserve it.
As a student do not brag about your high grades and look down on others as being dumb. Allow your teachers or school authorities to exalt you. Help others who are not so intelligent to become better students and God will bless you. Ecclesiastes 9:11 says
…..the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong…….time and chance happeneth to them all. Your intelligence is a gift from God, you may also need help in other areas of your life.
At work do not be proud because you have the highest level of education and your employers depend on you a lot. It is by God’s grace that you are well educated. Do not see others as being inferior. Share your knowledge so that everybody can help lift the image of the company. Do not think of yourself more highly than others(Romans 12:3)
In ministry, the most successful people are those who can adopt to the lifestyle of the people in places they present the gospel. Without humility you cannot excel in ministry. The Apostle Paul said, he has become all things to all people so that he can save some by all means (1 Corinthians 9:19-22)
God be with you
