Be content
Hebrews 13:5

…..be content with such things as you have….

To be content with what you have is to be satisfied with what you have and not desiring more. God desires that we find satisfaction in our relationship with Him and not accumulating possessions.

In fact most of the problems we have in the world today is as a result of people not being satisfied with what they have and striving to accumulate more possessions and wealth.

A student wants to own a car, the lecturer wants to be the Vice Chancellor, the market woman wants to own a chain of stores, the taxi driver wants to own a fleet of cars, the Pastor wants a congregation of 6 million enough to fill a national stadium etc

Scripture says in Psalm 20:7-8 that
Some trust in chariots, some trust in horses but we trust in the name of the Lord our God….

Our success in life does not depend on what we have but who is our provider and protector.

The bible says in Psalm 75:6-7
Promotion does not come from the east or the west….. but from the Lord ( paraphrased)

Dear student, worker and ambassador of Christ your faith should be in God always. He should be your sole provider and protector. He will use people but pray for the discernment of the spirit behind people’s actions ( 1 Corinthians 2:11-12)
