The whole duty of man
Ecclesiastes 12:13
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man

The verse above simplifies what God requires from us:
– Fear God, meaning have respect and reverence for God as your creator, father, protector and provider
– Obey His commands, meaning, follow the directions and instructions given in the bible.

If you are able to put everything mentioned above into practice, then as John 15:7 says
If you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will and it shall be done unto you ( paraphrased).

Mark 23:30-31
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

All the ten commandments God gave to Moses have been summarized into the two in the new testament. If you love God, you will have respect for His name, you will have no other god and you will keep the Sabbath holy.

If you love your neighbour you will not steal from him, commit adultery, murder or covet his possessions.
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Study the bible to know all God’s commandments and obey them.

When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His word
What a glory He sheds on our way
While we do His goodwill
He abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey?

Trust and obey
For there is no other way
To be happy in Jesus
But to trust and obey
Amen.
