What is man, that thou art Mindful of him?
What is man, that thou art
Mindful of him?
By Evangeline Unity Esaaba Folson
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man that thou vastest him?
Another translation of the verse above says:
What is man that You remember him, the son of man that you look after him?
When you consider the nature of human beings, it is difficult to accept that God still loves us dearly in spite of our shortfalls and weaknesses.
For example, a typical human being would:
- Seek to excel or prosper even at the expense of another’s downfall or suffering. (Job 1:8)
- Seek his/her welfare instead of obeying God fully. (Psalm 51:56)
Yet God still loves us and takes care of us, protecting us from evil 24/7 what confirms in the bible that God care for us?
- He planned and executed the salvation plan for the redemption of man
Isaiah 1:18
John 3:16
- He offers us eternal life in heaven
Isaiah 9:6-7
Revelations 21: 3-4
- He offers us forgiveness of sin
1 John 1:9
2 Chronicles 7:14
He planned and executed the salvation plan for the redemption of man
Isaiah 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord. Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
The verse above summarizes what the salvation plan offers to us. It gives us the opportunity to go before God, confess our sins, show we are truly sorry and will not repeat our sins by the grace of God (repent).
God then, forgives us and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1: 9 says
If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
The sacrifice Jesus made was once and for all it covers redemption for past, present and all future sins. There is:
- No need for another sacrifice
- No one apart from Jesus, worthy to make this sacrifice.
He offers us eternal Life in heaven
Isaiah 9:6-7
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon His shoulder and His name shall be called wonderful, Counselor,
The mighty God, the Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace
Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from hence forth ever forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
In the passage above the Prophet Isaiah says is going to establish His Kingdom form now and forever more.
The bible sometimes refers to the kingdom of God as heaven where the heavenly beings never cease to worship God day and night. (Revelations 4: 10-11).
Revelations 21: 3-4
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrows, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain” for the former things are passed away.
The first verse in chapter 21 says the first heaven and the first earth we live in now will be destroyed or will pass away.
Then God will replace it with the new heaven, where god will dwell with man where there will be no more death or sorrow or pain. We will live together with God and the heavenly beings in bliss.
He offers us forgiveness of sins
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
The verse above says if we!
- Humble ourselves
- Pray and seek God’s face and
- Turn away from our wicked ways then God will forgive us our sins and heal our land from destruction, war, disease and violence.
Do not sit idle doing nothing, pray and spread the gospel. Tell as many people as you can about Jesus and pray for their souls to be saved.
1 John 1: 9 say.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
God loves us so much that no matter what we may have done, if we confess our sins, He will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Unrighteousness is any sin or any wrong thing that we may have done that does not conform to what the word of God commands us to do.
I do not know the mind of God because His ways and thoughts are higher than mine.
However, I believe that if we continue to repeat the same sins over and over again intentionally we might frustrate the grace of God upon our lives ad our sins might not be forgiven.
(Romans 6:1-2)
God loves and care for all humans and we as Christians should let the world know about this. Meditate on the words of this song;
Untold millions are still untold
Untold millions are outside the fold who will tell them of Jesus’ love
And the heavenly mansions waiting above
Jesus died on Calvary to save us all from sin.
Now He calls to you and me
To come and bring them all
For untold millions are still untold
Untold millions are outside the fold.
