TOO FAITHFUL TO FAIL
By Evangeline Unity Esaaba Folson
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies will never come to an end. They are new every morning, great is thy faithfulness.
The passage above brings to mind a song that says
You are too faithful to fail me
You are too faithful to fail me
You’ve proven yourself in my life
And I’ve come to realize
You are too faithful to fail me
There are several stories in the bible that point to the fact that God never fails.
He is faithful
Old Testament
Habakkuk 2:3 says
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
The passage above brings to mind the story of king David. He was anointed king, several years before he actually became a king. This confirms the fact that every vision given by God has an appointed time or set time to be fulfilled.
Some bible scholars say, David was anointed king 12 to 13years before he became king.
- He did not kill or take the throne by force
- There were instances he could have easily killed king Soul and taken his place, but he told his men
- “Touch not the Lords anointed”
- He stepped in to become King only at the appointed time.
What am I trying to say?
- God is too faithful to fail
- Whatever, He starts, He always will finish.
- It is however, important to wait for the move of God in your life patiently with prayer and thanksgiving.
King David story can be found in 1 and 2 Samuel.
God never breaks His promises. It might take a while but it will eventually happen.
Just learn to wait patiently for the move of the Lord.
If you get a blessing at the wrong time it become a curse. Consider giving a 15years old a brand new car as a birthday present. He will hurt himself or kill himself because he is too young to drink.
New Testament
In the new testament, there is the story of the Apostle Peter. He lacked courage, he denied Jesus 3 times in front of a young maiden He was prone to acting rashly. He cut off a soldier’s ear when they came to arrest Jesus.
Yet Jesus said he was the one He will build His church on.
It looked impossible until the baptism of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2
He was the first to preach the gospel. The Apostle Peter, who lacked courage and acted rashly.
At the appointed time the vision of the Lord was fulfilled.
Lesson from 2 stories
- Do not take anything by force even if God has told you clearly it is your
- God hate violence
- What is yours will be given to you at the appointed time.
- Wait quietly and patiently with prayer and thanksgiving until the appointed time
Conclusion
Meditate on the verse below
Psalm 27:14
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
