The same power
The same power
By Evangeline Unity Esaaba Folson
And if the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his spirit who lives in you.
The bible says in revelations 3:10 that:
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock, if any man hears my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and He with me.
This implies that Jesus is standing at the door of everybody’s heart, when we open the door and accept Him as our Lord and savior, He comes to live in our hearts through the Holy spirit.
It is the same Holy spirit that raised Christ from the dead, therefore, the same power lives in you and accomplishes great things in your life.
The Holy spirit or the spirit of God not only raised the dead, it calmed the raging storm, it opened blind eyes, set those tormented by demons free e.t.c.
If you have the same power living in you as a Christian, the spirit will enable you to
- Pray as you have to
Romans 8:26, Jeremiah 33:3 - Testify of the lord
John 15:26, acts 2:24 - Become what god wants you to be
Romans 8:28, John 16:8-11
Pray as you have to
Romans 8:26
Likewise, the spirit also helpeth our infirmities for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Sometimes, when you really need to pray, you cannot find the right words to express the magnitude of your need. It is then that the holy spirit steps in with his power and ability to help you express yourself in the way you should through tongues, songs or just groanings. The holy spirit has the same power that was used to perform the miracles we read about in the bible.
Therefore, when He steps into assist you, you should know he will help you receive your break through.
Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
In the verse above, God promises to help us when we call unto him or pray. It is the holy spirit that helps you understand the great and mighty things that God will show you.
Testify of the Lord
John 15:26
But when the comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the father, even the spirit of truth which proceedeth from the father, He shall testify of you.
The verse above emphasizes the fact that the Holy spirits will testify or help us understand the life and work of Christ so that to preach the message of salvation.
In other words, the same spirit and the same power that raised the dead, calmed the storm, healed the sick and performed other miracles will be at work in you as a Christian to make you a good witness for Christ.
Acts 2:4
And they were all filed with the holy ghost, and begun to speak tongues, as the spirit gave them utterance.
Most people fear to go out and preach the message of salvation because though they read the bible and know the word, they do not know how to organize their thoughts present a message that would convince someone to come to Christ.
The verse above is a story about how the disciples received the holy spirit. They were all in a room praying when suddenly, they were filled with the Holy spirit and begun to speak in tongues.
We can learn from this that whenever we do not know what to say in any situation, whether we are winning souls, explaining an issue at work, church or school, pray and the holy spirit will direct you on what to say. However, we need to gather our facts from the bible, work schedule, school textbooks or church program first, then the Holy spirit will direct you on how to present it.
Become what God wants you to be
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that that love God, to them who are according to his purpose.
Everyone makes plans about how He/she wants to live but certain misfortunes or failures make us loose hope.
According to romans 8:28, all things whether good or bad would be directed by God through the holy spirit on you to benefit you and make you what He wants you to be.
John 16:18-11
And when you He is come, he will reprove the world of sun, and of righteousness, and of judgement! of sin because they believe not on me of righteousness, because I go to my father, and ye see. Me no more; of judgement, because the prince of this work is judged.
The holy spirit convicts us of our sins and helps us to repent and ask for forgiveness and cleansing from God to make us clean and whole ready to be used by God to do His will. As you fulfill the will of God for your life, you become the person God wants you to become.
Conclusion
As we pray each day, we should remember to ask God to use the power of the Holy spirit in our Lives to accomplish His will here on earth.
