Why must I be saved?
Isaiah 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all
Some people think if they do not drink, smoke, do not fornicate or commit adultery, they are okay. They do not need salvation.
The bible says in Romans 5:12-19 that
Just as sin entered the world through one man, salvation had to come through one man as well
Because of Adam and Eve’s sin, were are all born in sin and need salvation.
The verse from Isaiah says we have all gone astray because of the sin we were born with. Therefore it is not enough to be good or upright. You still need salvation.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God
As already explained, we are all sinners, our sins have taken us away from the close relation we should have with God. Just as Adam and Eve had with God in the garden of Eden ( Genesis 2-3)
God through His love for us drew up the plan of salvation so that we can be reconciled to Him. Only Jesus can save us John 3:16, John 14:1-6)
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Make sure you accept the gift of salvation if you have not done so already. Follow Romans 10:9-10 or get a Pastor in a nearby church to help you.
Prayer
Meditate on the words of this song
Greater love
Has no man
Than this love
Jesus Christ laid down His life for us all
Your father may love you
Your mother may love you
But none can die for you
The love, love of Jesus
The love, love of Jesus
Surpasses all
Amen.
