Who is on the Lord’s side?
Joshua 24:15
And if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Ammorites, in whose land ye dwell, but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord

Just as Generals in the battle field want to know soldiers who are on their side, the Captain of Israel’s host ( our Lord) would also want to know those on His side.

If you do not know those who are for or against you, your army is not strong enough because some people can betray you.

In the verse above, Joshua asked the people of Israel to declare their stand. Are they on the side of the Lord God Almighty or on the side of their fathers’ gods?

Every Christian has to declare his/her stand. If you are on the Lord’s side then you have to be faithful and sincere.

Scripture says in 1 Corinthians 4:1-5 that

It is required of stewards( or soldiers of the Lord’s army) to be faithful. ( paraphrased)

Matthew 11:29
Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

This verse from the new testament is a call from the Lord to take up His yoke, or respond to His call for laborers to work in His fields to win souls.

Serving the Lord is much easier than serving any other deity because, His blessings maketh rich and addeth no sorrow. (Proverbs 10:22)
