When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound
Exodus 19:16
And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people in the camp trembled

There are two major instances in the bible when the trumpet of the Lord sounds to signify the entrance of the Lord of hosts.

At Mount Sinai after the Lord delivered the Israelites miraculously from slavery. The second time would be when our Lord Jesus Christ comes back to the earth.

Just the sound of the trumpet at Mount Sinai caused the people to tremble. The bible says the Lord our God is a great and tremble God, no one with sin can stand boldly in His presence

1 Corinthians 15:52
In a moment in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed

According to this verse from the new testament, when the trumpet of the Lord sounds a second time, it will usher in our Lord Jesus.

Even the dead will rise to meet Him. The Lord hates sin ( Isaiah 59:1-2) and no one with sin ( dead or alive) can rise to meet Him when the trumpet sounds.

Therefore as we wait for the trumpet of the Lord to sound a second time we must prepare ourselves as the Israelites did in Exodus 19, cleansing ourselves from all sin:
– By accepting the gift of salvation first ( Ephesians 2:8-10)
– By repenting from our sins and confessing our sins ( 1 John 1:9)
-By praying for grace and strength to stay away from sin.(Matthew 5:8)

Then when the roll is called up yonder, you will be there.
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Stay away from anything that has evil implications no matter how unsuspcious it might look initially.
