When the task ahead seems great?
Exodus 14:13-14
….the Egyptians you see today you will see no more…..

Moses’ task of leading the Israelites out of Egypt was a great one. Freeing people who have been in slavery for over 400 years was not an easy task especially since the Egyptians were deriving so many benefits from the Israelites.

After 10 challenging plagues the Israelites were free to go. But after 2 or 3 days journey out of Egypt, the Israelites who were travelling on foot heard the sound of chariots and horses. How do they escape?

The Egyptians were behind them and the Red
Sea in front of them. God assured them He would make a way in the passage above. He turned part of the sea into dry land for them to walk through safely.

As christians today we also have a great task.
To preach the gospel convincingly to people in a world of advanced technology/science and sorcery. Technology/science and sorcery have answers to almost everything apart from the mystery of death.

The word of God to christians is, with men it is impossible to preach the gospel effectively but with God all things are possible.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

This verse from the new testament assures us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

Trust in God, obey His commands and fulfill your mission as an ambassador of Christ.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Trust and obey

Prayer
Meditate on the words of this song

When you have a work to do
And the task ahead looks bigger than you
That’s when He steps in….He meets you at the point of your need
He says, what’s that you have in your hand
I can use it
If you’re willing to lose it
Take the little you have and make it grand
I am Elshaddai
And I ‘ll more than supply
Your need.
