What is your utmost desire?
Psalm 27:4
One thing have I asked of the Lord and that will I seek after. That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. To behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple.

“Your utmost desire” is what you want most in life. Some want to be rich and famous. Others want to be spiritually powerful. There are people who want to be world or international figures. What do you want most in life? What will you give to achieve it?

In the verse above the Psalmist says his utmost desire is to dwell in the house of the Lord, all the days of his life. Serving in the house of God in anyway he can and praising and worshipping him.

The bible says in Psalm 150:6 that

I will praise you Lord with every breathe that I take

And the Apostle Paul says in (1 Corinthians 15:10) that

By the grace of God, I am who I am …..

We owe all we are today to God. We should therefore have a song of praise and thanksgiving for God always. We should never stop praising and thanking God for His many blessings.

Our utmost desire should be to please God in all we do and not man.

Matthew 6:33
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

This verse from the new testament says we should seek God and His righteousness first. That is, we should surrender our lives to God and accept the gift of salvation first.

Then we should spend the rest of our lives serving Him faithfully. All other things we need and desire will be added.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Seek to please God in all you do. The bible will show you what to do.
