We have an anchor
Isaiah 43:2
When you pass through the waters, I will be with thee,and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle on thee.

An anchor keeps a ship firmly rooted in the sea, such that no turbulent winds or strong waves can shift or move it.

In the verse above, God is assuring us that He will be with us through all the changing scenes of life and nothing shall overwhelm us because He is our anchor.

The bible says in Joshua 1:5 that God will never leave us nor forsake us. He is with us at all times. Once we trust in Him completely, He would keep us safe in stormy waters ( through challenges, trials and temptations)

Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

This verse from the new testament says in times when we are helpless and do not even know how to pray, the Holy Spirit steps in and intercedes on our behalf.

God is indeed our refuge and strength, a very present help in the time of trouble ( Psalm 46:1)

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Always remember that as christians we have anchor, our Lord Jesus Christ who keeps us safe from all storms of life. Trust Him completely.

Prayer
Let this hymn be your confession

Will your anchor hold in the storms of life
where the clouds unfold their wings of strive
When the strong tides lift
And the cables strain
Will your anchor drift
Or firm remain

We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll
Fastened to the rock
Which cannot move
Grounded firm and deep in the Savior’s love.
