We are heirs of the Father!!
Isaiah 43:1
But now this saith the Lord that created there, O Jacob, and He that formed thee O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by name; Thou art mine.
An heir is a person legally entitled to the property of a relation or family member after his/her death.
As born again Christians we are children of God and therefore heirs of the Father and co-heirs with Christ.
The verse above says God has delivered us from sin and the grips of the evil one( redeemed us) He calls us His own, confirming we are heirs of the Father.
Ephesians 2:8 says that
For by grace have we been saved through faith. This is a gift from God not because of anyone’s work. Lest we should boast ( paraphrased)
Salvation is a gift of God. This implies that none of us did anything to deserve it therefore no one can be termed unfit to receive the gift of salvation and become heirs of the Father.
Romans 8:17
Now if we are children, then we are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory.
This verse from the new testament confirms that we are heirs of the Father and joint heirs with Christ.
Let us live lives worthy of our calling
