We are ambassadors for Christ
Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint
An ambassador is the representative of a country in a foreign land. His/her main duty is to create a good image of his native land to attract investors and business owners and also to improve trade and cultural ties.
In a similar way, christians are ambassadors for Christ. Our home is heaven and we are to create a good image of God and heaven, attract and show people how to get to heaven.
To be able to do our jobs as ambassadors well, we have to wait on the Lord through prayer, fasting and study of the word to prepare and strengthen us to be good representatives
2 Corinthians 5:20
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ stead, be ye reconciled to God
Just as was explained above, we are to present the message of salvation and reconcile or mend the relationship of God with man
before the fall of Adam and Eve. (Genesis 3:22-24)
Let us do all we can to fulfill our mission as ambassadors for Christ
