The whole duty of man
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Many people ask questions about how they can know what their purpose on planet earth is. The verse above answers this question, we are all here to keep God’s commandments.
Matthew 22: 36-39 says
Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself.
Jesus sums up all the ten commandments God gave Moses into two great commandments given in the passage above:
Love God above all else and your neighbour as yourself, This is the whole duty of man.

How can I apply the word to my life
1. Always remember that if you really love God above all things and your neighbour as yourself, you will not worship idols, or steal, or murder or covet (wish to have by all means) anything your neighbour has.
2. Pray each day that God will help you obey the two greatest commandments fully.

Almighty God, receive your praise, glory and honour. Help me to devote my life to obeying your commandments. Amen.
