The truth will set you free!!
Psalm 51:6
God desires truth in the innermost man….
( Paraphrased)

The Greek word translated as “truth” in the English version means unconcealed, and refers to facts as well as reality.

“The truth will set you free” is an indication that comforting lies are not as beneficial as the truth. The truth may hurt and might not be what you want to hear but it is more useful than a comforting lie.

The verse above says God values truth. This further confirmed in 1 Samuel 16:7
…..man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart.

John 8:36 also says

If the Son shall set you free you shall be free indeed ( paraphrased)

Furthermore John 8:31-32 says

If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples and the truth you know
shall set you free ( paraphrased)

Putting the significance or meaning of the three verses quoted immediately above together it can be concluded that:

– God sees our thoughts and hearts

– He knows those who are genuine and sincere in their service and worship

-He will set the genuine and sincere worshippers free by confirming their sincerity with signs.

Romans 12: 15-18
…..If it be possible as much as depends on you live at peace with all men
( paraphrased)

This passage from the New testament gives some characteristics of genuine and sincere worshippers:

– They live at peace with all men

– They forgive and do not seek revenge

If you need to be set free from anything trust God to set you free through the truth revealed in His word
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Study the word thoroughly and the truth revealed in the word will set you free.
