Daily Word

The Lord will restore
Joel 2:25
I will restore to you the years that the locusts hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

To restore means to bring back to original state or re-establish.
In the verse above God promises to restore the harvest the Israelites had lost over the years to pests.

It is a figurative way of saying God can restore what we have lost over the years because of ill-health, poverty and misfortunes.

An example of God restoring or re-establishing someone is seen in the book of Job. Job lost everything he had but at the end Job 42:12 says:
So the Lord blessed the later end of Job more than his beginning, for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen …….

God restored what Job had lost because he kept his faith in God and continued to trust Him

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you

This verse from the new testament says ,” if we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” all other things shall be added unto it.

Seeking the kingdom of God I believe involves accepting the gift of salvation and dedicating your life to serve God by winning souls to enlarge the kingdom.
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Do not lose hope when you face any misfortune. Continue to trust God to restore whatever you have lost

Prayer
Meditate on the words of this song

Let not your life’s disappointments
Make your courage faint or fall
God is your shelter and hope
And He will see you through all these
Rescue from your misfortunes
And shower His blessings
On your way.
Amen
