The Lord is my shepherd
Psalm 23:1
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want

A shepherd is someone who takes care of sheep and ensures that they have food, water, shelter and do not wander off into dangerous terrain like a busy street, rocky and thorny forest etc.

Psalm 23 gives a good account of all that a shepherd does. The Lord is our shepherd as believers or Christians. Once you accept the gift of salvation, He plans and directs your life to a successful end if only you will trust Him and allow Him to mold your life as a potter does. (Jeremiah 18:6)

John 10:27-28
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

The sheep know the voice of their shepherd and follow him, wherever he leads. In the same way we should try and identify how the Lord speaks to us and follow Him obediently.

God usually speaks to us through His word. He has given directions for whatever He requires from us. 1 Timothy 3:16 says
All scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and it is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Study the bible and do what it says and you shall not want or lack anything, you will have everything you need.

Dear Lord, help me to study your word, know your will for my life and follow your directions.
