The Lord is my light and my salvation!!!
Psalm 27:1
The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?

The Lord is my light and my salvation means the Lord is my guide and protector.

In the verse above the Psalmist says if the Lord is your guide and protector there is no need to fear anything or anybody. Why?

Jeremiah 32:27 says
Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is anything too hard for me?

And Matthew 19:26 says
…. with men it is impossible but with God all things are possible.

God can do all things because He has all power, is ever present and all knowing. He neither slumbers nor sleeps. He keeps watch over His own 24/7.

Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

This verse from the new testament implies that if the Lord is your light then you need to share His light with all men by doing good works.

Then, they will in turn give glory to your Father in heaven.
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my light?
1. God blesses us so we might also bless others. Share the light of God’s word with all men.

Prayer
Meditate on the words of this song

The Lord is my light and my salvation
Whom shall I fear?
He is the strength of my life, day and night
No need to be afraid

I have a secret place
Where I seek God’s face
And He gives me strength to carry on
He carries me
Over mountains high
He comforts me
In the valley
When I’m going through a storm
He protects me in His arms
That’s the reason why I say….

The Lord is my light and my salvation…
